I have a compressor in Spain and I need it shipped to the USA.

About 20lbs total

It is already fully insured with my private musical gear insurance policy. Online the costs with DHL looked like around $500 which seems crazy. Then the Spanish postal service looks like it may take 2 months to get it to me.

For simplicity sake how do I declare it with VAT and tariffs ?

Where was it built?

If built in USA and returning there should be no tariff of any kind.

Now it's been 10 years since I dealt with international shipments so..that's a caveat.

If built elsewhere I would start HERE!

Hey Bob.

Shipping packages from EU to US is as expensive as shipping trash from the US back to China. One wonders HOW the Chinese can offer FREE shipping on ebay on the junk they send over... and NONE ever gets opened by US customs!

The Spanish postals service has pretty much been taken over by DHL (just like in Germany). It's expensive. HOW heavy and large is your "compressor"?

You might want to have someone "mule" it over in their suitcases for you. But I know, it's not always an option.

I assume you have weighted the possibility of SELLING it in Spain and buying one in the US with the proceeds?
