Hi all!
I’m new here, and hope to very soon have a steel of my own! I’ve been playing guitar, piano, and dobro all my life, but the allure of pedal steel has always called to me. In short, I’m looking for any sort of student model pedal steel (Carter Starter, Zumsteel StageOne, etc range) to get me started learning. My only stipulations are that it be a 10 string E9 steel with 3 floor pedals and 4 knee levers (standard Emmons setup as my limited understanding of steel dictates). My budget at the moment is currently around $600, but I am actively invested in getting a pedal steel and will be/am saving more at the moment in order to facilitate the purchase of one. I live north of Atlanta and would probably be willing to drive a reasonable distance to avoid shipping costs as well. Thank you so much for your time and advice, I’m very grateful to be a part of this forum!
