I need one height adjustment screw for a Rickenbacker 1 1/4" horseshoe pickup on a 1954-'57 DW-16 The one I have is badly bent and the pickup wobbles horribly back and forth when engaged. It's got the Philip's head top.

Hey Garry. I'm guessing your bolt diameter is actually 3/16 rather than 3/8, right? If so, go to your local hardware store and look for a 1 1/4 inch long 10-32 stainless extra wide truss head phillips machine screw. Or better yet, take the screw you have with you and match it up. Here's a reference from McMaster-Carr.

Thanks David, YES!, the shaft diameter is 3/16" and not 3/8.
I have updated my post. I will look into finding one at my local hardware store. My biggest problem might be the patina of matching a 65 yr old part with a new one. One other option I've heard of is trying to straighten the screw in a aluminium covered vice. |

I'd straighten it using a coupling nut. Put the coupling nut in the vice, then bend appropriately. That'll keep the threads from getting damaged. _________________ '81 Sho-bud LDG, 2 EMCI's |

Would I grab the screw and bend it by the head or bend the coupling nut to straighten the screw?
Damn, I wish I'd had taken machine shop instead of band... |
