Anybody using this pedal? Sounds cool but It sure seems easy to overload it. Anyone else noticing this?
Not sure the ohm-age of my pickup but I usually use it in the single coil setting and run the Mel 9 after the VP.

I have one and don't notice any clipping. I run it before the Volume pedal so it gets full signal.
Maybe it doesn't like the volume pedal fluctuation at the input?

Any of the EHX key emulator pedals have to be first right after the pickup they are super picky with the level that hits them. The Mel9 also has a high note limit that it won't trigger at or above in pitch.

Or otherwise put a pedal with a buffering circuit right after the guitar. There seem to be quite a few users who get *much* better tracking and reliability using some kind of compressor in front of the EHX synth. I gave up earlier trying to make a Synth9 usable and now use an SY-1 and a Meris Enzo. Both work significantly better with a dynamics processor going into an EQ then the synthesizer. Will try the Synth9 again with that setup. A not-so-harsh overdrive might help too.

Hey y’all thanks for the wisdom and ideas, I mainly use it for a weekly solo steel livestream and the occasional overdub. When I have used live, I don’t notice the clip really but under the crown of headphones, it’s all too apparent. I usually use a black box so I’ll try it right after that for tonight’s show and report back.
