Due to a mix of corporate greed, copyright violations, etc. there are not a lot of blogs offering downloads compared to ten years ago. Here's an exception: Spade Cooley's complete recordings on Columbia. "Crazy Cause I Love You" has one of my all-time favorite Joaquin solos.

This is the definition of a moral dilemma for those who know Spade's history. |

And for those that don't: https://cocaineandrhinestones.com/spade-cooley-murder-ballad
I've never done any research on any of the topics he covers, so I can't speak to the veracity of what he says, but Cocaine and Rhinestones is a very interesting and entertaining podcast. But if half of what he says on this podcast is correct... *shivers* |

Let's take a lesson from the recently closed humor section and keep the topic focused on the music and steel guitar. There are a lot of other places on the web to discuss the horrific aspects of the Cooley story. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

I think we have to separate the art from the artist. If we don't do that then we will all find that the number of records, books, movies and paintings etc. available to us would be reduced dramatically. |
