Got one that has had the battery connectors taken off.

A diagram or good picture of the battery connections would be a great help. A schematic would be great but I don't think one exists

Thanks

I just finished a drawing of how I suspected it was wired. Your picture confirms it

It is an 18 VDC powered unit. Two 9 volt batteries in series. The output jack is used as a power on switch by shorting negative to ground when a mono cable is plugged in

Thanks

Steel Driver finally up and running. Finally got all the bugs worked out
The input jacks was shorting out things on the nearby contacts on the top switch. A lot of very bad wiring and soldering to those two switches as well. I replaced the input jack with a Switchcraft that is similar to the N111 style.

Great sounding little unit. However I hope to never see another one. Took 3 hours to finally get it up and running. No schematic and never was any support in the past from Goodrich

My MatchBro died (because of a defective new 9VDC battery) and no schematics for these either. Luckily a friend in Nova Scotia had a schematic he made from one and sent me a copy. It was a different model than mine but enough that I was able to find the bad transistor.

The MatchBro has similar power wiring. I added a power on/off switch. I put the switch in series with the power lead going to the Input jack. Both the switch and a guitar cord plugged in are required to power on. I've added the switch to several others for Forum members.

That is a great idea This one uses the the output jacks to switch power. Odd, usually I see the input jacks for that purpose. I agree a second switch is a great idea. A power on led would be another nice improvement
