I have a recording of Buddy practicing with out an amp. He play really hard and record himself to get his hand in shape.
Your board would be a great C6 practice as when I play single string lines, I don’t always use pedals |

It looks like there would be lots of room to install a pickup or two.

The tuning pins hole is not large enough to do C6th tuning.
They are made to use with E9th tuning. or smaller strings than the bottom C6th strings |

Not really. it is only one inch thick. Made just for hand exercise and practice on roll patterns mainly. |

I think Buddy Emmons had a practice board like that.
He took it to bed with him and practiced till he couldn't stay awake any longer.

I have a really great 10 string C6th.(non pedal) steel with a Bill Lawrence (chrome surround) pick-up. Tone and volume controls and what appears to be an Emmons key head. With a 22 1/2" scale length. I have no idea who made it, but they did a good job. Anyway, if anyone is interested, I'll sell it for $450. plus shipping. Photos upon request. By the way, it's purple. Does that mean anything special? It has four legs, but no case. Thanks, Tommy..... |

jimmie. if you ever want to make a C6 board, get some piano pins. they come in 6 different sizes. i would say that a 5/0 or 6/0 size would be plenty big for the low wound strings. |
