I would like to introduce myself with my last project:

10 String Non Pedal SteelGuitar

Over the past few years I have designed and built various pedalless lap steels and console guitars. Designs was inspired by my old Carter Steel.

Console: walnut oak, with Formica finish Navy Blue, aluminum neck, pickup; Bill Lawrence 710,
Brass roll
Scale length: 24 "

I look forward to your opinion

Best regards

As a 10 string non-pedal player, looks good to me.

Do you have any sound clips?

I look forward to hearing it.

What is the advantage of using rollers on a non-pedal steel?

I worked on a Derby 10 string non-pedal for Billy Robinson one time and I remember it having a roller nut.

Some players get really serious about choking the strings!

Why do you have the brace across the front legs?

The steel is absolutely gorgeous. I'm confident it will sound as good as it looks.

Thanks jim,
the brace across the front legs give more stability, and can attach a volumpegal. I like the look better that way
I noticed with my Pedal Steels that it's better if I don't have to look for my volumpedal Smile
best regards

Hi Bill,

the roles are already the preparation for palm benders, unless I think there are better sustains,

The other advantage is the ability to slide into and out of the zero fret. More non-pedal steels should have this.

Filip,
Well done!! I like it also.
What is the measurement at the nut of the strings from 1--10. Having owned a Carter I think it was 2 1/2 " ? Did you keep that?

Beautiful looking guitar, congratulations. I'm also curious about this measurement. I'm in the process of starting a 10 string EH-150 project. Just waiting for my pickup to arrive.
