Hey all

I have been very busy with work lately. I sold my company, but have been retained to design for them.

My friend, Mark Dunn, who some of you will know from the Telonics Room at the Dallas shows, has just released a new Steel Guitar CD, called "Bars In A Line"

Having listened to it, I can say that the quality of both the CD and the playing are second to none. Mark produced the CD himself.

I asked Mark, if I could tab one of his tracks and give away free to my friends on The Steel Guitar Forum.

Mark took time out and arranged the tab, with bar lines and chords. The result, I think you will find, is NOTE FOR NOTE, what mark plays on the CD.

The CD is for sale at $14.00 excluding postage.
Mark can be contacted on info@markdunn.co.uk.

For a FREE COPY OF THE TABLATURE, PM me your email address and I will send it to you.

I will leave this offer open till the end of April.

Kind Regards

J.R.

Thanks again, John Russell.
It's good for a student like me to hear the arrangement played, so I went ahead and purchased the CD from Mark Dunn. https://markdunn.co.uk/

Hey all

Thanks so much for the great response.

It is rare that I am able to work with the performer, who puts in the huge effort to check every note for correctness.

Mark has scrutinized the tab, to ensure that it is "Note For Note", just as he played it.

I am trying to encourage Mark to let me do more, as there are many unusual moves on all the track on this CD.

Kind Regards

J.R.

Many thanks John, for those kind words and your encouragement over the years. It really was a journey making the album...
Like most steelies, listening to Buddy Emmons inspired me beyond words, and 25 years ago I started learning his version. Over the years, I've messed with it trying different things. At gigs (remember them!), it's probably the most requested instrumental I play. And as John said, the tab is as played on the album.
If you're in the US, Sophie at Telonics has a small stock of CD's; if you'd like to purchase a copy - sophie@telonics.com
There's 14 tracks on the album, including 5 originals. Time permitting, with John's help, we'll probably tab a few more.
If you've requested a copy, I hope you enjoy the tab.
All the best Mark

Nicely done John. I've always thought this was a great melody that has stood the test of time.

This tab adds a number of different approaches - it will be fun to play with...

Thanks a million to John and Mark for this very professionally done tablature. I love the landscape format, which makes it easier for us with "old eyes" to read.

dlayne - Used Infinity(with X10's), Emmons PP and Zum steels. All black, of course! Smile Into a Telonics FP-100, then a Telonics LeMay or TCA-500 combo. One or two tracks I added my own design Valve Warmer. Brad's Black Box would do a similar job. All effects added within Presonus Studio One (Great DAW).

Thanks for sending the tab. I am looking forward to revisiting this old song. I am on the road today but as soon as I get some seat time I will have a look. It is always worthwhile to look at another player's ideas. John's tabs are consistently high quality so it will be time well spent.
