A customer sent me a text today asking if I had ever heard of a Boen pedal steel. Have any of you players ever heard of one and if so what do you know about them? She says it was built in the mid 80's. They are wanting to sell it and most likely are trying to figure out what it is worth.

I think they may be talking about a Boen guitar.
Jim Boen used to build them (and pickups) in the 80's |

If you look in the search function there's some information in another thread from 2009. _________________ I don't know much but what I know I know very well.

This is the steel Paul King posted about.
I have since spoke with Jerry Knapper. He owns Jerico Guitars which was once Boen Steel.
He told me this is the 5 Star General model. Most all the parts were the same used on am MSA pedal steel. It was very solidly built and should play and sound good Jimmy had help building the pedal steels as well as the pickups. I had his pickup winder, but sold it before I left the Ft. Smith, Ar. area. Based on todays prices and the shape it looks like, I would value it between $2500 - $2900.
I need to sell this steel so please get in touch with me if anyone has any interest.
