Saw the Zach Williams Band last night. Awesome group, Christian southern/soul/gospel/rock? Strongly recommended if you get the chance. Also on the bill was Mac Powell & band (very good) and CAIN, a 3 piece band of brother and 2 sisters. All Christian performers.
Anyway, I was stoked to see one of the guitar players in the ZW band trade out his armpit guitar for a lap steel rigged to play standing. Looked like a Deusenburg to me. Definitely had some type of under carriage support. Sorry my pic isn't very clear, but you can see the angle of the guitar is flat. He also played some pedal steel on other songs. Looked around on their website and Utoob for any other pics, but couldn't find any.

His name is Zach Ingle (and he was, at one time at least, a forum member here.)
I reached out to him and he said he uses a couple different supports, one made by Asher and one made by Lap King.
He couldn't remember the names of them, but they each only have one available on their sites (that I saw). The Lap King support is called the Stage Hand ($150) and the Asher one is called the Belly Bar ($170). |
