I purchased a Travis Toy 12" speaker that I put in an extension cab.
I unplugged the speaker in my Fender steel king amp and hooked them onto
the cab. Wow that speaker has it all! I want to run the cab with my steel king so
obviously I have to run with 2x 8ohm speakers to do so. What's the thoughts on either
using another Travis Toy in my steel king so that they are a perfect match or I was looking
at the 15" Delta lite in 8 ohm 300 watt, same specs as the TT. Don't know much about the Delta lite only that it's a bass speaker. Having to be 8 ohm limits things a bit pedal steel speaker wise. _________________ Emmons SD 10 PP 4x5

I just got an Eminence Wheelhouse 150 neo, 12" 8 ohm, 150 watts that I really like. Mike Scaggs is using them in his Bad Dawg amps. I've had the TT-12 and the PF-350. PM me if you decide to buy.I may be able to save you a few bucks. |

I have used this speaker converter ring in several amps that allows you to fit a 12 inch speaker from 15 inch baffle. It's an easy installation with no modification to the amp. If you want to go back to the 15 inch speaker you simply remove the ring.
This would be a good option if you wanted to put the 12 inch TT speaker into the Steel King.
I also did this to 12 inch combo and used a 10 inch reducer ring to a 10inch speaker.

My used Evans SE 200 had a Delta Lite 15" in it. I did not like it and replaced it with an eps 15-C, which I like much better. I like the Wheelhouse 150 12" even better.
I made my own adapter ring out of a piece of 1/2" birch plywood. Just attached my router to a strip of wood and used a nail for the pivot points. Made a perfect ring. Nothing but a motorized compass. |
