I've been working on this one for a few months on and off, and finally got it finished up. Sounds and plays nice!

Thanks everybody! I'll try to record something on it when I get a chance.
But, yes I guess it is the Sol Hoopii tribute model. I like to engrave portraits to practice my engraving, and would prefer to use these on instruments instead of just having little practice plates floating around the house.
The woods are curly shedua (aka ovangkol) for the back, sides, neck; old growth salvaged sitka spruce top, brazillian rosewood bridge and ebony fingerboard/peghead.

I've built fancy banjos for years--just now getting back to doing guitars (where I started years ago). It's been a lot of fun. Now that I'm retired I have the luxury of doing whatever it is that I want to. Yay!

Lovely to see, lovely to hear! Looking forward to seeing future builds. Also it might be fun to see other inlay portraits you've done.
