Looking for any reviews on these. Especially the all pull 10 string.

This one right? It's not a review but man it sounds good. If someone does a "Forever and Ever, Amen" or some Whitley tunes on this Very Happy

I thought they were supposed to have a Dobro sound. I don't hear that. Maybe it's my ears.

Bill I am with you. I Don't hear a true Do-Bro sound.
It may take a BOSS GE-7 in the line or a Tube-Fex with a Do-Bro setting to get a full Do-Bro sound.

I can not get a good Look at the bar he is using, It looks more like a Ceramic Bar by shape, Than a Nylon Bar.

I have a Myers RGS Cat Can Steel, It gets more Do-Bro sound, If you run it through a BOSS GE-7 and use a Nylon Bar.

Yea, Bobby. I like the sound of a Franklin Ped-A-Bro. Of course, it was $6,600.00, I believe, and this is a few hundred. Perhaps that's the reason. Suppose?

The Hudson Ped A Bro's are no longer in production.
I have to many other pedal steels and lap steel kits to make to have time for the building of them any more.

Hey guys, I appreciate the comments and thank you for posting my video.

In person the guitar sounds great as per my original unboxing video but I'm still learning how to mix an acoustic instrument as I'm primarily a pedal steel player. I'll use your suggestions to help me.

The mic'ed footage is much more what I was aiming for which was the first verse. The second verse was raw out of the acoustic pick-up. No acoustic amps were used, it was straight into the desk on both verses.

I'm also going to try nickel strings and bronze phosphor at some point. I don't know what strings are currently on it but I believe they are stainless steel.

The tone bar is an Ezzee-Slide made by Basil Henriques over here in the UK. The contact layer is made of a special polymer of his choice.

Sad to hear you have given up making the Hudsonator Jimmie but it is a niche market. I guess mine will be part of a rare group now you've stopped. Later in life I'd like to build my own steel as a project. I've just downloaded the original blueprints for the Franklin Pedabro (patent expired) so if I build anything it will probably be a resonator pedal steel. Right now I just play them though, I'm not a builder by any means.

Thanks Steven, I have a few of them built up and in stock. But I have no plans to build them in the future. So what I have in stock I may sell later. But for now I am keeping what I have built up for myself.

Thanks mate, I've been thinking about one for a while.

I probably need to buy a nicer mic too. The ones used weren't very expensive. I'm thinking about a Shure SM57.
