Hey Forumites!

So I don't need it but i have a line on a JBL D-130 (i've already got a JBL in the only amp I could use it in)

But it's an older guy around here who could probably use a bit a cash... I would very much assume its got the original cone and not sure of the use.

If I grab it I'll probably just put it up here on the forum so a player can get it. What do these go for now with those caveats?

PS.. if it DOES need a re-cone I am hearing great things about Weber and the JBL's which is GREAT cause there hasn't been anyone doing great JBL re cone for a while it seems.

I bought mine from Jerry Roller for $125.00, which was a low end price. They are usually in the $150.00 to $175.00 range.

Thank you. Yes I don’t know how much he wants for it yet. If I end up grabbing it people will probably see it here on the forum as I don’t really need it but it be great for a former member to have it. I do love the JBL’s I just don’t have a need for this one

Ross, thanks for your reply. Should mine ever blow, I give re-coning a try. I've seen the kits for about $70.00 I've got about 65 years experience building things and a complete workshop. I think I can handle the job.

Ive got a blown D-130. I’d like to reconnect it myself. Any suggestions on a kit to purchase?

Hi Guys,

Apologies to Josh for the thread Hi-jack. The outfit Dave Zirbel got the kits from is outta biz now. Have no fear, just little google foo using "jbl recone kits" will get you there.

Ha! no worries... glad it spurred it...

As Ross knows I barely trust myself to tie my own shoes much less do a re-cone! (I hear it's easy but then i'd play it the whole time thinking... "CRAP... could I have done it better!!)

Smile

Ross,
I just found out that Sound Speaker Repair was out of business. I have bought several recone kits from them and they worked out great.
They came partly assembled and were quite easy to install. Very Happy

I've been looking at this:

https://www.simplyspeakers.com/jbl-recone-kit-aftermarket-jbl-e130-RK-JBLE130-8.html

The reviews are all positive. I also have a D120 I need to do too.
