Donald, search the history under Pedal Steel. There are several informative and lively threads on the MCI/EMCI steels. I've been reading up a bit about them lately in the past threads. They have a solid repuation as reliable, great-sounding steels. After hearing a few on recordings, I'm intriqued about this brand as well. If you also search the buy/sell history, you can get an idea of the average prices. |

They are no longer being made, but they are excellent instruments. |

I was told by Buddy Emmons that the Geo.L. E-66 P/U was designed specifically for the EMCI PSG.

I owned a S-12U, I could kick myself for letting it go.

I hear you Ernie. I used to own a matched pair of dark maroon mica, U12 MCIs with Geo.L 12-5 PUs, 7/5.
I've never found a guitar that had it all like they did. Very easy to work on, totally reliable, rock solid tuning stability, and tone to die for and played smooth as silk. Just a superb guitar in every way.
But, sad to say, they are very hard to find. |
