Fender Pro Reverb, $525 plus shipping. I think it's a 1982, 70 watt, S# F122541 Has tilt stand, wheels and comes with a cover. Sounds and looks great. Prefer selling within a reasonable distance of Northern Virginia due to weight. I will deliver part way depending on distance. Call Chuck 571-477-5888.

Now wait a minute.....to my knowledge, 1982 Fender Pro Reverbs were all Silver Faces---they stopped the black face ones in 1968, shortly after evil greedy CBS took over Fender. Must be a re-issue. _________________ Emmons & Peavey |

No. Fender went to a second blackface panel in about 1980 or so, up until 1982. Specs are the same as an ultralinear 70-watt silverface Pro Reverb. A lot of people still call them "silverface" amps. http://www.thevintagesound.com/ffg/pro_reverb_sf.html |

Hmmm....did not know that! Blackface sure is better-lookin'. IMO. Could probably be 'black-faced' electronically fairly easily, tho--eh? _________________ Emmons & Peavey |

Also was wondering how they went from 40 watts to 70 watts. Same output tubes and power supply voltage. ??? _________________ Emmons & Peavey |

Additional clean power to the speakers obtained by the use of a so-called ultralinear circuit, which uses a special output transformer. That's why these amps are often favored for clean applications like pedal steel.
Ultralinear Fenders have been discussed many times in Electronics, which is where any further discussion about this should go. This is a For Sale thread, and Chuck has what looks to be a nice clean example here. |

OK, but I never heard of ANY transformer that provides power gain. _________________ Emmons & Peavey |

As Dave said, Its not the OT, its a modified design of the POWER TUBE circuit which requires a different OT. Remember the Marshal Major, boasting 200 watts ? It was an ultra linear output design of the 100 watt Plexi.
This was the 80's Fender series and while I do not know for certain, it may have been the brainchild of Paul Rivera.
These are great amps ! _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,
