Hey all,
Just acquired this Fender 800 from Guitar Center, after tuning it up and playing it, it sounds like there is some issue with the pickup making it sound like it’s at half volume. Seeing as how this is a vintage guitar, I have three days to return it, but before I do, I wanted to see if anyone had a S10 or an SD10 they’d be interested in trading for this. It’s set up in standard E9 and has everything, and to my knowledge, it’s all original. I’m not very inclined to sell it but for the right price I would.

Bridge the contacts on the volume pot to see if that is what's causing the resistance/ low volume. Hopefully that's the issue. If it's the pickup, I'm sure there is someone who rewinds them, they aren't that hard to take apart. The plastic cap just pops off. A used one seems to be going for $150ish these days when one comes up. They are fun guitars with a unique sound. They can be made to play really smooth too. _________________ Microphones, Recording, and lots of pedal steel guitars! |

Tom Brantley Rewinds...
He's very reasonable, and fast turnaround.. He did an 800 pickup for me years ago, great job, even added a coil tap no extra charge...
