As if I'm not busy enough, a new 80' X 80' service facility that I feel the industry needs, climate controlled and equipped with the necessary tools to do all and any major to minor repairs.

| This is a one of kind Steel guitar service center, I took a tour, Bobbe even has proto type pickups he hand made back in 1959. This service center is a must see !! Any steeler visiting the Nashville area should take the tour !! All state of the art, WAY TO GO BOBBE!! |

| This is great. Kinda like a Wal-Mart for steel guitars! It doesn't get any better than this! This is a plus for guys like me that operate small steel shops. I refer my customers to Bobbe anyway, if I don't have what they need. |

Bobbe. I was looking at the pic of you drilling out the 8 string headstock. Tell me that is a staged photo that you are not drilling that out just holding it in your hand!
I had a drill bit in a drill press get snagged on me the other day and even though the item was locked in a vice, I was lucky. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had been just holding it in my hand.
I am also looking at the steel bodies you are making with out a separate aluminum keyhead. Can you elaborate on why you chose that set up and what you have found different in the sustain and sound from a standard metal keyhead design. |

Larry Strawn, this is the fourth half size Sho-Bud I have built in the last 20 years, Doug Jernigan played "Steel Guitar Rag on one at the St. Louis show several years ago,

Stephen G., I just love building and expermenting with weird steel stuff. This is where I learn a lot.

Steveb, three pedals will be installed on the little Sho-Bud, (No knees, how could you use them!)
Bill Hatcher, yes, the picture WAS staged!
I'd never do that with my hand, and the wooden key heads are more expensive to make, but the sound is much better than aluminum, notice all standard guitars? How about violins? Always wooden keyheads. Paul Bigsby was the first to prove this fact on steels.
Tom Quinn, hope you are doing well, I hope our future will be long and bright, I think about you every day and wish you the very best.
Jim Cohen, yes, a shame about my own modeling, such a shame. Things used to be a lot better looking around here, well, possibly the future will hold more interesting prospects. If things don't start looking up, I'm going to have to start looking up things!!!!!!
Farris, thank you, I only work about 18 hours a day in this FUN business, really! I love it, all phases of the steel business. Teaching, recording building, retail, wholesale, design and just about all except working the road! I miss my dogs and kitties, to much to do that anymore!!

I wish I lived closer to your shop. I do a bit of woodworking and machining for a hobby now. Being able to restore and build steels has to be a lot of fun. I'd love to work in a shop like that. My Dad would've loved it too.

I've seen the new SGN Custom Shop and it is totally awesome! Bobbe was kind enough to give me my own personal tour of it 2 weeks ago. I'm hear to tell you guys that Bobbe is now set up to do anything your imagination can dream up when it comes to rebuilding or customizing your Steel Guitar. This could very well be a new future manufacturing facility for the ultimate in Pedal Steels.
