I'm using this on my '65 Deluxe Eight.
Anyone else?
Gets a lot of chords. |

I used to use this tuning quite a bit. I recorded a tune about 5 or 6 years ago on a Jeff Beck tribute. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

I tune mine up to C# quite a bit. I like these videos of Bobby Seymour using the same tuning without the C#. _________________ Steel Guitar Slinger w/ The Malpass Brothers |

I use it a lot too but very seldom with the low C up to C#. For Blues, I usually turn string 8 up to G. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |

Looks really versatile. Just about every kind of chord in there, with some nice strums.
I’d be tempted to try it as a high tuning, with F A C# E and G A C E in the same octaves, string gauges would repeat. I wonder if it would work? Or is it just a kooky idea? _________________ Current Tunings:

Don’t know what A tuning this works out to be, but it’s an easy change to C6th that puts other chords in reach. Have tried this for bluesier steel vamps with success. For 6-string lap steel, just tune low C string sharp. I’ll have to give this a try on 8-string experimenting with 1st and 8th string, though tempted to stick with C6th high G. |
