I picked up this Somco branded Electromuse lap steel a couple of weeks ago. The tuners are not original, and they're also shot. It has a thicker than normal peg head, and the string posts are barely long enough to allow stringing. I've been looking for tuners with longer posts, but haven't come up with anything. Does anybody know where tuners with longer posts are available? Thanks![img]

show us a picture of the back of the headstock, so we can see the tuners. I have many different kinds because I build Steel guitars.

it also looks like the spacers (grommets) are missing.

I've seen a couple of these, and none of them had grommets. They might've been too cheap to use them. I agree that it needs them.

I don't think that the tuners on it are original. There's an extra screw hole on each side.

Here's one that's on Ebay with what looks like original tuners:

Those 3 on a side open back tuners are very common, and have a standardized distance between tuner shafts, but the screw holes in the mounting plate often vary between manufacturers.

May I suggest buying some good quality Kluson Deluxe 3+3 and you will not regret spending just a few dollars more than for Very Happy cheap ones.

I bought these Waverly vintage tuners on eBay for $100. Look at the pics if you want then make me an offer—I can’t use them.
