I had a copy of his steel album entitled "plays the FARR out of it". That was a long time ago and never thought I'd hear that name again.

I first met Tony when he was hanging around the Dallas area. He would sub at the "Big D Jamboree", the Levee, and did several tour dates with Eddie McDuff & Orville Couch. I believe he also worked for Tony Douglas for a while. A good player and a funny individual. RIP Tony

Back in the late 60's I and my wife had Tony Farr over on a Sunday night for fried chicken and taters. I think he was with George Kent at the Hogan in Colorado Springs that week and the next.

Nice fellow.

Sad to hear this. I too had his “Plays the Farr Out of it” album. Tony called me a couple of times many years ago to talk steel guitar. He seemed like a nice guy and he loved the pedal steel. My condolences to his family.
