He was a quiet giant in the industry. Widely loved and respected They're just a few of the multi-greats remaining. He was one of them.

I watch him every weekend on Bret Maverick. Bret Maverick was on network television in 1981 to 1982. Ed Bruce played James Garner's business partner and town sheriff. He also wrote and sang the theme song. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bret_Maverick

A man named Bruce. Ed was born in Keiser,Arkansas but was rised in Memphis,Tennessee. Ed sold cars by day and picked and sang by night. Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys. When my late Journalist dear friend Les Walker ask me if I could set up an interview for him with Ed Bruce. I said in joking. Is this a Sun Records deal? In short I did for Les and I am proud to say my old Memphis friend the late Ed Bruce did it.RIP Ed and thank you for the friendship that started from Memphis when I was a kid.Leo J Eiffert,Jr. <> PS; My prayers go out to Pasty and the Family.

The last time I heard Ed sing was back in 2002. He did a change from Country music to Christian and dedicated his life to Christ. My condolences to the family.

I met him when a band I played in fronted him. He was a nice talented person. This is a great loss to the music world. He did some great acting with James Garner as well.
