What are some early recordings featuring fuzz pedal steel? I’m specifically looking for songs from the early 1960’s to the late 1970’s. I have already heard stuff like “Christine’s Tune†by The Flying Burrito Brothers, “Silver Threads & Golden Needles†by Linda Ronstadt, “Honky Tonk Woman†by Ricky Nelson, etc., so please let me know all of the songs you can think of! Thanks everybody! _________________ Caleb Melo |

It was Grady Martin on guitar. The studio limiter had a loose or broken tube. They decided to use that sound for the cut. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing.

I was at a steel guitar show and the singer was going to do that Marty Robbins song.
I saw the pedal steel player take a stomp box from his pac-a-seat, plug it in and he sounded just like the record.
I went up afterwards and asked him what he was using and he showed me the "Rat" distortion unit.
It ready did the trick!

Buddy Cage! "Death and Destruction" off the Gypsy Cowboy album. One of many many great tunes with Buddy and Boss Tone. |
