I was watching a promo youtube thing for this Peterson tuner, and I heard him say it will only tune down 6 cents flat. That's not going to be flat enough for my F note. When I pedal the A pedal and the F knee lever together, I want that F note to be at least 15 cents flat. Maybe I'm missing something? Any advice before I get one? Thanks, Tommy..... |

I have done no custom tweaking on mine....just using presets so far. But assuredly, it has the super-flat Newman F lever sweetening. I will assume that what you are referring to would be that you can only globally calibrate the whole thing from 440 up or down to 434 or 446. Which I only 'know' because of your post....I don't have the manual or specs in front of me right now. |

What I think you saw Tommy was the "transposition range", +/- six semitones, which is the amount you can alter the tonal center of a preset. For example, if you play with a band that de-tunes to Eb, you can transpose your sweetened E9 tuning down a half step and retain the same offsets. I actually have a transposed preset in mine for this very reason. Same thing for a trumpet or saxophone, etc. Their "C" is Bb or Eb in the real world.
The "calibration range" is +/- 50Hz (concert "A" reference 390Hz to 490Hz).
The StroboStomp HD has no limitation on the range of a preset note, you can create a preset for any note up to 50 cents sharp or flat (after which it jumps into the adjacent note's range). _________________ All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest - Paul Simon |

Clearly, she doesn't read the Forum. It's all just a creepy Man Cave up in here as far as she's concerned. |

Well, I have this new tuner now. It sure seems difficult to me. I really don't care about sweetened presets, I just want to program it with my own numbers. Or, actually create two of my own presets (one for E9th. and one for C6th.) I've done that in my old strobo stomp (the big blue one) I'd like to know how to do the same with this new one. Thanks in advance for any help. Tommy..... |

Hi Tommy,
Just PM me your offsets, I'll program them for you and send the results to your StroboStomp HD via USB & you'll be all set. _________________ John Norris

Now THAT’S service! This is why I’ve owned several Peterson tuners and will always continue to use Peterson tuners in the future. Companies that care this much about their customers are fewer and fewer. Great work and keep it up! Happy New Year to all of you. |

John: When I get to the page where I'm trying to hide the unused presets, I have it narrowed down to just the four that I want, How do I hide the rest? I know there must be a place to click but, I'm unsure, and don't want to mess everything up. Thanks, Tommy..... |

Don't worry, you won't lose anything, you're just taking some items off the active list.
On the config page, just mouse over the ones that you don't want, in each case you'll see a red X, clicking on that removes the relevant Sweetener from the on-board list.
Then connect your tuner to the computer and follow the prompt to update the list on the tuner. _________________ John Norris
