I got one of the Rogue RM100-A models from www.musiciansfriend.com. They're listed currently for $60. clickhere

You'll have to do a few things like flip the bridge upright, adjust it for length and tune it up and there's no case. The instructions for all that came in the box with mine.

The fit and finish is good on these and they sound as good or better as anything else in the price range.
Frankly, I dunno how they can sell 'em this cheap.
For 60 bucks and free shipping I don't know how you can miss.

Only thing I did for mine was build a case for it...still even has the original strings on it.

No expert mando player here, but for practice and even playing out a few times, it has done fine for me.

I will sell mine for $400 shipped. Sounds and plays great. This will be a great mandolin for a beginner or intermediate player.
