I use an Boss RV6 for a touch of reverb and echo. I also sometimes use the shimmer setting and I almost like it but not quite. It does some things that do not sound authentic (?) to me. Shimmer has some great applications when doing pads, etc., so I would like to have a nice dreamy shimmer setting.
Anybody use a shimmer you like that sounds good?
thanks

I love the shimmer on the mxr m300. It also has fantastic other verbs too that are all awesome too. I bought a used strymon blue sky recently but Iā€™m not as crazy about it.

The shimmer setting on the EX Ocean's Eleven is absolutely spectacular. I crank it up when working with a couple different singer songwriters when we do duos for some really super atmospheric stuff and they love it. One of the artists had a tune it was very heavily laden with cellos on the record. I had been using the Ocean's Eleven and then went out and bought the mel 9 specifically for the cello setting. Used it for one performance he asked me if I could go back to the "old" sound.

thanks guys. very interesting pedals. The Oceans 11 is a lot of pedal for the money.

I also like the Oceans 11, all the way around. Not quite as good a surfy, splashy spring reverb as the Catalinbread Topanga. But the spring reverb is good - I could use it with my surf band - and the shimmer is very good. A little goes a long way, though. I like the other reverb settings on it too. Yes, it's a lot of pedal for the money.

Ever compared the shimmer on the EH Canyon with the Oceans 11? The Oceans 11 looks like it might be a new and improved Canyon.

I'm using and like very much the Mooer Ocean Machine
It's a large footprint pedal that combines Reverb, Dual Delays and a looper. All in stereo and with Manual control or presets
Rather than having a shimmer setting on the reverb, it has a separate knob to add in shimmer to whatever reverb model you chose.

Holy Cow Jeff! Looks like I would need a pilots license to fly that Mooer. Very impressive!

It looks scary but is easy to use in manual mode with the controls up the top for reverb, delay 1, delay 2

Jeff I like the idea of being able to add shimmer to any setting - very versatile.
Right now musicians friend has 15% off this pedal (and other stuff).

Yes that's the big benefit, and you can blend in as much or as little as you want unlike the shimmer switch on the big sky.
Great with the inbuilt looper for drones
