Has anyone designed or built palm pedals that lower strings? Most are designed to raise strings.

The Dusenberg system will lower, strings that lower are simply installed/routed on the opposite side of the pivot in the lever mechanism. Obviously just one change per string.

I don’t know if they’re still in production or not, but the Hipshot palm benders could lower as well as raise.

i bought a knock-off bigsby tailpiece on ebay for $20 for that. all you have to do is put a tuneable stop under the lever. it has spring return to the original pitch. just hook the string you want to lower to it and leave the rest of the pins empty. you night have to extend the back with a mounting board some way.

I think a lapsteel with a pair of levers on the left leg in combo with the means to secure the lapsteel with your right leg would be a big hit.
