Just curious, did Sho~Bud wind custom humbuckers? I believe I read that somewhere, just not sure where...
Anyway, here is an early 74' LDG with what I believe to be a Sho~Bud wound humbucking pickup.

Sho~Bud also made some low impedance pickups that used a small transformer. I had a D-10 once with those pickups and they were super quite... and sounded great.

Is there a company that's builds a similiar humbucker for Sho~Buds today?
Thanks,
Greg |

Eric - sounds almost like a Alumitone design?
Tommy - thanks for the info
Greg - there may be a company that will do that, lot's of aftermarket choices.
I have a Telonics 84 in a Pro I newer stye, and it sounds pretty good, lot's of clarity, though I can't seem to get the lower end where I want it. It just might be the natural resonance of the smaller cabinet... not sure

Harry Jackson wound a lot of those Sho-Bud pickups. I think he would be a great source for a reproduction. |

When I had my Buds Harry wound a couple different sets for me. He wound a set for my Fingertip and then a set for a Pro2 I had. Single coils and super quiet. |

Thanks Norman, David really has offset the pole pieces, I'm going to try out his adjustments. Telonics state that a 1/4 turn in opposite directions is the increment of adjustment, so Mr. Hartley really tweaked them alot.
Thanks for the link, Mike |
