I had this up recently but I put it in the wrong section. Sarno V8 with XLR output. It's still available if anyone is interested. Asking $550 USD ($700 CAD) OBO.
Please message or contact nathaneagray@msn.com for any questions.
Thanks!

I have a couple questions about the V8 octal pre-amp .
1. How important is it to run a black box before the volume pedal if you are running the V8 after the VP?
2. Do you run reverb before or after the V8?
By the way I really enjoyed your Bakersfield Style Videos as I was getting started with this instrument.
Thanks,
Patrick |

Patrick, i always run my "Black Box" directly after whatever i'm playing. Brad told me the black box, has to "see" the pickup.
Just a word about the black box. A couple years back, i did a benefit jam way up in northern michigan. There was once again unfortunately a little Peavey Nashville 112 on stage {my personally most disliked amp}. I reached in my road case for my old Black Box, i bought another one used on the forum for a spare. It was before the "Z" knob were on them. After we played, the steel player asked me what i did to his amp to make it sound so nice. I pulled out my old Black Box. Ya'know it's heart wrenching to see a grown man about to cry. So after a lot of convincing me how much he liked it on his amp, i agreed and sold it to him. I still don't have another spare.....
As far as the other V8 hookups, someone will chime in here and give you great advice, or write brad. |

Hey Patrick,
Thanks I believe the recommended signal chain for you would be: Black Box-Volume-Reverb-PreAmp-Amp.
The Black box helps drive your signal to the amplifier. It's a buffer so it really needs to interact with the pickup and having it first in your chain is the best. |

But would you need a black box at all? I have always run guitar into a Volume pedal then into a twin reverb. how much difference would a black box make in front of the V8? |

I use a Black Box with mine, but it works fine without. I'm playing through a Fox tube reverb, and I put it before the V8 in the signal chain.
