This is so sad. That guitar was for sale a while back on Ebay. The seller claimed that it belonged to someone else and he was selling it for them. It was in VERY restorable condition. It still had the rosewood necks that came on it and several other parts. Almost made a deal on it for 2 or 3 hundred. Seller claimed he could not work it out with the owner. Now I see these pics and can see that it was left out in some sort of storage where it looks like it has been rained on for a year or so. Makes me angry that he could just let this rot away. It is on Ebay right now for $650 BIN with $200 shipping!! One of the saddest thing I have seen in a while. There was some sort of Sho Bud logo on the guitar the last time I saw pics of it. There were also some of the changer parts there, one of them being interesting in that it was set up for some double courses of strings like a twelve string guitar. I forget how many strings it was capable of using.

Looks like firewood to me, though the fumes from the burning mold spores might hurt you. What a shame.

It is a shame people don't care about these old instruments and let them end up being junk of no value. For instance:
I bought an early sixtys Sho-Bud last year that once belonged to my dad.The guitar was once a D-10 with 9 floor and 3 knees.By the time I got it back, it had been raped of most any part that made it playable and someone along the way took the back neck off and added a cheap plywood board with some seedy nauga tacked to it.
I was able to get the guitar back to a somewhat original state with exception of the back neck.
On the other hand, I still have my first Sho-Bud steel which was purchased by my parents around 68' or 69'. The guitar is as it was when new.

I'm going to throw-up. Ok, now I feel better. I have one of these, a triple 11-11-16 permanent that is in the beginning stages of restoration.

I was right about what I remembered about this guitar. I almost had a deal on it and the guy decided not to. He put it out in some storage in a outside cottage and it got rained on for a year or so. I just contacted him about the guitar and he got back in touch. I may try to get some specific info and more pics on it anyway and see if there is any hope for it at all. He has it priced stupid right now.

Chas. Could you please send me just a couple of pics of your triple Bud so I can see what this guitar is supposed to look like.

If I remember correctly the necks on this guitar were dark, maybe some kind of walnut or rosewood. Also the 16 string changer housing was there and some other parts. I am afraid the necks and other parts might not be there now.

How very sad! PLEASE, if you got an ol BUD you are not useing, hang on to it. Slide it under the bed, stick it in the closet, give it to your uncle to hang on to for you, anything but what I saw in those pic's!
Or, you could send them to me !

What could one do with that thing anway? There's basically nothing left. Maybe a few parts (a very few) and that's it. How about we raise the Titanic while we're at it...

looks like somebody left it on the porch for a year or two, there is nothing left of that poor guitar, the only thing he can do is to throw it into a trash can.

Here's an idea,

Attach some skateboard wheels to it & have an extra large, ultra heavy skateboard!!!
It would be awesome going down hills.

How about making a table out of it???

Gotta find another use for it other than being a guitar...I think the Pedal Steel Grim Reaper needs to come & pick this one up...it's deader than dead!!!

That's very fitting, since it looks like this guitar has been underwater for a couple decades!

Since the seller "hints" there's nothing left on the top side of the guitar, it's essentially worthless.

Caviar emptied, as they say.
