Hello,
I'll finally doing something with the extra pedals and knees on my Emmons PP S-10 and I want to lower both G#'s to G on the currently unused pedal 1.
This means I need two push rods about 26" long. Where can I buy these? Can I just go to a hardware store or machine shop and pick up some rod stock, or do they need to be manufactured from some special material?
Thanks,
- Andrew |

Andrew ... I found some stock at the local Ace Hardware .. or was it True Value .. it was a long seach. They called it piano wire. It's about 36" long x 1/8" and nice and stiff. I like it better than the welding rod stuff that came with my guitar.

I used to buy my rod at a model airplane hobby shop. Same way with the collars. |

One word of advice:
INSTALL GUIDE BELLCRANKS every foot or so -- just a bellcrank with swivel and no collar.
That puppy will fold up like an accordion if you don't reinforce it -- That's a LONG PUSH ROD.
It is a bit of a hassle and expense but you will save yourself a lot of grief.
Just a word to the wise.

Thanks all, I'll give a try to find some rod. Larry, point well taken. I have some extra guide and will put some in. Already my lkv which lowers B to Bb flexes too much.

Try stainless welding rod from a welding supplier. It's cheap and wears well and won't rust.
