I have acquired a 1974 Emmons D-10 bolt on, wood necks, fatback steel. Both pickups read 17.5k. Are these original pickups or not? Seems to me the C6 and E9 would not have had the same pickups from the factory. |

Quite possibly. The factory pickups were all over the place, and 17-18k is about right for the time period. |

Original or not - I wouldn't touch 'em. 17.5K is my absolute favorite wind for those original Emmons single-coils, True-Tones, etc.
Hey, if you decide you don't want 'em, I'd be interested. |

My #1714D, a '73 rosewood 'mica fatback with aluminum necks, has its original pickups.
E9: 15.5k
C6: 16.5k
I wouldn't change 'em for anything. |

Thanks for all the help. I have a pickup that works, but doesn't sound right. When I test the ohms, the meter has no response. I'm going to get it rewound to 17.5k. |

Since forum member Scott Schwarz is making Emmons single coil reproductions, I am assuming he could rewind it. If not, then I will search elsewhere. |

I had Lindy Fralin rewind two vintage Tele bridge pickups with perfect results. If they rewind steel guitar pickups like they do a 6stringer you can’t go wrong. |

I have a ‘74 pp woodie with OEM Emmons single coils wound at 17.5k. The guitar sounds great. |

Scott, I will get with you the first of January. Buying an amp right now and won't have the money until Jan. 1 for the rewind.
Thanks for your response.
