I have one of those and it's a decent amp for Telecaster, but not enough headroom for pedal steel. Probably works good for lap steel. Like many small amps, the tone is better when playing at louder volumes. At low volume it lacks character. |

Seems like that would be a good amp for music room/practice??? At least it would have the warmth of tubes,,,I guess?? |

Sonny, depends on how you plan to use it. I tried an extension cabinet to enhance the pedal steel and an effects processor in the effects loop. I got an ok sound but not to my tastes. Now with a Telecaster it can do well. You may like it. I just didn't feel like I could eq the mids well enough from the front and the effects loop wasn't enough help. Granted I didn't buy it for steel and probably could have spent more time with it. If they got a return window, then get one and try it out. Nothing to lose. |

FYI: I discovered an interesting fact about free returns. In most cases, when returning an item that offers free shipping, the seller may first deduct their shipping costs from your refund. When you factor in the additional cost for the return shipping, sometimes better to keep the item and resell it at a loss. Found this out when attempting to return a pedal board to Sweetwater, (total cost with tax, $134.00. After deducting all fees, was left with a balance of around $65.00, eventually sold the unit on Craigslist for $75.00). |
