When I say "Vintage", I really mean it! This is Del's original changer design - a Sho-bud changer on steroids! The machining work on this guitar is just amazing.
I purchased this guitar in the 70's and have owned it ever since. The guitar is so vintage that Del hadn't even started using serial numbers yet.
It does need some loving care and adjustments to really make her sing! There are two cracks in the wood. One on the changer end (explained below) and another small crack on the neck shown in the last pic. This is all reflected in the price.
Warning: This is not a gigging PSG. This thing ways a ton. In fact, when originally shipped it broke the case...hence the crack in the wood on the changer end. However if you are a collector or care about the evolution of these amazing instruments, then you have to have this guitar. It is definitely "one of a kind"!
Also, I would like to sell this guitar to an active player who already owns another steel. You will need a good understanding of PSG's to take full advantage of what this guitar has to offer. I could list this at an exorbitant "vintage" price. However, my main concern is that it's new owner will be proud of this purchase, as it has been one of my prized possessions for the last 45 years. I hope you understand that at this price, I would not like to take returns.

That is super cool, and for $1,000.
For that price Mullen might want to buy it back for a piece of history.

Could I come by and play it? I dont see how it works. Would it be very difficult to get a universal tuning on tone of the necks? |

Hello Whit, I responded to your email. Regarding a universal tuning: you should be able to tune it any way you want. However it will take time and effort to reset all of the pedals and knee levers. There is a lot of guitar under there to deal with! (ha)
Thanks & Regards,

Hey Mickey!
I thought I would see a message from you somewhere in this thread. Yes, there is no one on this forum who knows more about Mullen Steels than you! Hope you are doing well.
And you would be right. I am a "True Time Capsule"! (ha)

I'm so tempted!
That looks like the SD-12 with 5&4 that I bought used in the 80's when I'd never heard of a Mullen.
Like an idiot I sold mine in the 90's and have regretted that ever since.
Yes they are similar to a Sho Bud, but made and worked far better.
Now I'll torture myself about this D-12 for the rest of today for sure.
Here is the photo of the one I had.
