Can anyone tell me what I need to get for replacement tuners for an old Gibson EH 125?

The one I used to own had Klusons. The decorated base plate isn't made by anyone that I'm aware of, but Kluson-style replicas like these or these should drop right in.

What's wrong with the originals? They can often be repaired.

What's your ultimate intent, restoration to a museum piece, a "players" instrument, or somewhere in between? For something functional and high quality that will fit the original footprint, I would just slap a set of new Gotoh SD90s on it and play.

Or, if it just has a case of button rot:

I agree with John that if the issue is merely disintegrating plastic buttons, re-buttoning is your best bet. I've personally re-buttoned dozens of old Klusons with the StewMac buttons. It's not rocket surgery.

All good advice. I have recently got Gotoh tuners for my G70 and Klusons for my 41 New Yorker from stew mac. Both are fine and easy to install, screw holes lined up on both sets. Needed to enlarge peg holes as the bushings are sized different but they will say what size bit to use. Easy
