I've posted here that I recently acquired a Carter D10 from Johnie King in Nashville.

I'd like to have advice on a C6 pickup that has a bit more 'bite'. The existing George L (no model shown) pickup is a bit muddy to my taste. The E9 E-66 pickup is great for my ears and setup.

To put a little more context into my search - I've been playing a Fender Stringmaster D8 (no pedals) in Western Swing bands for a dozen years and that's the sound I'd like to get closer.

Your comments and experiences would be most welcome.

I listen to you everyday as Dale Watson's Live In London CD tracks revolve through the miles.

Thanks for your advice. I have contacted Becky Lawrence about the right size to fit a Carter.

That George L you have on the C6th neck is a GL 10-1.. they are a little darker than the E66 ...

Personally I would agree a BL710 would be great, or a Telonics 409 or x10 :-}

Awesome Michael; you'll never look back again, with that 710 in both necks, and Bill(RIP) and Becky are the greatest and thanks for the "live in london" support...you know here's something nobody probably got to know; but out of Johnny Bush's mouth; he said: that is his favorite "LIVE" album he has heard.

For those who might not have listened to Dale Watson and Ricky, the album is here:

I played Carters for years and had several D-10's. The Lawrence XR-16's worked well for me in those guitars.
