For those of you that use one of these drum machines......
Can the preset patterns be erased and then used as user generated patterns?
For example, the SR-18 has 100 preset, 100 user patterns.
Can the 100 preset patterns be erased and written over with your own user generated patterns.
This would then give you up to 200 user patterns.
Also, can this also be done with the SR-16?
(Yes, I know that it has fewer of each.)
Thanks in advance. |

Brad: Thanks for your reply, but that wasn't exactly my question.
I generally have no use for preset patterns in a drum machine.
I want to erase the preset patterns and use them as user pattern spots.
Maybe "write over them" is a better term.
I don't need to erase them all at once using a master reset or whatever.
Someone that uses one of these machines can verify that it's possible or not in about a minute.
Just try erasing the preset pattern data, then try to program your own pattern over it. |

I have an SR16 and SR18.
There is the factory presets that you can't erase but there is user memory, with the same amount of space that you can create your own presets/programs and use those.
On both machines there is a "Preset/User" switch and that is what you use to access the user memory (or stored user programs). |

As Jack states, this is common for many DIGITAL items and accessories. The stored factory items are there for USE or for editing and saving as your OWN pattern. Think of them as building blocks , a foundation. The specific factory pattern locations cannot be deleted or overwritten. . Nice machines though. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

Jack
Got any suggestions for some country beats? Shuffles, swing, etc?
