My brand new Mullen should be here before the end of the year, and I need to find a good seat for it. Hoping for recommendations from somebody who knows what to look for. I'm leaning toward leather/pleather, but all I have seen is cloth so far. I need one that is sturdy enough to hold 250 pounds. I really would like custom colors. If there's already a thread on this, let me know.

Get in touch with Dan Rollins at Steelers Choice.

He builds the best seat there is and I believe he will customize for you.

Glad you asked this question. My Justice will be here mid-December and I'll need one by then.

Hey fellows, I’m so thankful for the recommendations and kind words. William and I have discussed the build of his new Steelers Choice seat and it will be really unique and one of a kind when completed next week. I searched around today and found the ideal material.
Hopefully William will be totally satisfied and proud enough to post pictures of it when he receives it.
Thanks again for your continued support.

Be sure to get a back on your new seat. Leaning back between songs to relax your back mussels is a real comfort thing.

Not because I started the company ( I no longer have anything to do with it) but the sturdiest seat with the hands-down best longlasting seat and back foam is steelseat.com
Once you sit on it for a set or more you'll never go back to another brand.
Check it out before you purchase your next seat and instead of going off 'frills' and 'gimmicks' go off comfort.
Isn't that the biggest reason you purchase a seat?
Steelseat.com uses seat and back foam manufactured by the folks that supply Lear Jet and many others.
There are a lot of decent choices out there so be sure to check them all out.
Have them send you a sample of their seat foam and let your rear decide!
I really don't care how 'nice' the guy is I purchase my seat from, I just want the best I can get for MY needs.

Plus one on what W.C. said. The dense foam cushion used on Steelseats.com make them the most comfortable seats on the market. Once I received my first steelseat, I literally gave my other seat away.

Custom built to order. Yes... John Deere Green!
This seat is going to be really cool once the John Deere emblems are installed.
Thanks again William.

I think it's great that there are craftsmen like Dan [and his departed Dad Kenn] that will custom build products to one's specs. Great job Dan.

This one is reminiscent of one of Jeff Newman's John Deere label pedal steels that he had way back when.

Congratulations on your new seat William. Many happy days pickin' steel guitar.
