Can you get the E>F and the E>F# raise on an old rack and barrel Sho~Bud Professional? Am I mistaken thinking that the R&B Professionals only have one raise per string?

The changer is one up/one down, but you're able to have as many raises and lowers as you want on the same string. They share the same rod... that's the genius of the rack & barrel system.
The downside is that you aren't able to time the pulls like you can on a modern guitar.

Not that that's really much of a downside, IMHO.

Short answer is yes. As said above, the 1up/1down changer on a Rack and Barrel is a bit of a misnomer. Ricky Davis set up my R&B wonderfully with a nice, full modern copedent, even including a firm half stop on the 1st string raise.

Yes like Ben just said; and here's his copedent below. And tuning instructions as a reminder how and when to turn the rod so you don't de-tune the other barrels on the rod and yes you can raise or lower a string freakin 11 times; unlike any modern steel guitar that has no real sound
anyway..ha..Barrel tuning Sho~bud will and does blow away any modern steel guitar period; but ya gotta know how to tune it.
