This is a brutal refin. Besides the fact that I hate red- they covered the fretboard & the fret markers & everything. Looks like a yummy pick-up though- does this axe have any hope for redemption? I kinda like the sound of these metal Rick's for rock & blues & I cant afford bakelight... |

| Boy they really made a mess out of that one! There is a finish remover I have used on cars called aircraft stripper. It is available in auto parts stores. It might work on the body of the guitar, but I wouldn't want to risk using it on the pickup. Itwould probably strip away the lacquer from the wire in the coil.. Once you got tat mess off the body, you could refinish it the right way. Good luck. |

| It makes you want to cry when you see a desecration like this! It looks to be one of those student models originally with a grey finish. If so, it won't have the quite the quality of tone you will find in a bakelite. One has to wonder why the pickup was painted red! ...or why the whole thing was painted red in the first place. Sad. |

| Actually it would be pretty easy to strip the paint off the pickup. The coil comes loose from the horseshoe magnets and the mounting frame. Those could then be stripped and painted the standard original black. |
