His pre-Austin Texas days were my favorites. Weldon Myrick played on a couple of his albums and did some really inventive stuff. Jerry Jeff’s lyrics were introspective and very instructive to the person who wanted to live a life outside of the main stream. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

Really sorry to hear this.
There was no pandemonium like a Jerry-Jeff-show pandemonium. Unbridled joy. It's a rare thing.
Condolences to his family. |

Sad to hear, another true honky-tonker and deep thinker that wrote about ‘off the beaten track’ lifestyles.

Played at Luckenbach on Sunday afternoon, there was pretty large crowd that did not know JJW had passed. We did several of his songs in remembrance. His spirit is there I believe.
Rest in peace, Jerry Jeff. _________________ Just north of the Weird place, south of Georgetown |

What a great picture. Thanks for posting it. Captures him very well, with the ever-present cup.
Speaking of the cup, I read an interview where he was talking about how he always poured his beer in one and had convinced some other Lost Gonzos to do the same. His theory: it cut down on, uh, 'methane expulsion.'
I guess that's a big concern on tour when you're crammed in the vehicle with all those guys. |
