Hey, gang!
I recently bought a Rick B7 and one of the tuners is broken (see pics). Anyone know where I can get 3-in-line open back tuners that will fit my Rick?
I tried StewMac, but I couldn't find anything..
Ideas? Thoughts? Psychoanalysis?!

That's a tough one short of replacing all the tuners.
You might be able to locate someone who has a similar single tuner in metal in his/her junk drawer. Rob its guts to rebuild your tuner strip. Rebuilding may be beyond your skill set as you'd need to file/punch/peen etc, but it's something someone could do.
Try a post in the wanted section of this Forum. If all the steelers are like me they have quite the junk drawer.
I don't have the the metal knob style as it is not that common - plastic would be easy. |

Kluson still makes 3 in line/back tuners that look similar...might fit. The shaft coming thru headstock (which you tie the string to) is 1 inch in length, shaft is approx. 1/4 inch in diameter, plastic cream colored knobs.3 in line shaft measures approx. 1 3/8 inch on center or from outside to outside shafts at 3 inches approx..
I bought a set (3 in line) Kluson deluxe from one of the wholesale stores like Musiciansfreind, AMS, Music123, Sweetwater,Zzounds etc for approx. $100 or less a couple of years ago when I was refurbishing my 1965 Gibson LG-1... fit like a glove!Even looks vintage too. Good luck! _________________ Dana Blodgett

Mark, I see you also have a post asking about replacements for both the 3- and 4-strip tuners. Assuming that the tuners are in good condition except for the missing tuner button, I'd definitely try to keep them. From experience, I don't fancy your chances of coming up with a suitable replacement for the 4-strip. As for the button, why not ask a jeweler about fabricating a replacement? A friend of mine who owned a music store said a client had a jeweler rebuild several broken tuners on a Rickenbacher. The results were really good, and not all that expensive. |

....GOOD NEWS:
The 4 in-line tuners are intact and working fine. It's just that one in the 3 (pictured) I need to replace. _________________ Remington Steelmaster S8 w/ custom Steeltronics pickup.
