Legs and sockets for a Supro D-6?

Just got this awesome Supro, and I’d like to get legs, so I can play it standing, live. Even sitting, it’s not super lap stable. It doesn’t have sockets or holes for them, now.

Not too heavy, so I shouldn’t need anything too sturdy. 3 legs should do.

Any ideas where I can get those?

BTW, I know about, and am looking into, Deluxe 34 stands. Can't tell if they make a double stand. Also, not interested in keyboard stands or walkers (for now! Laughing )

Thanks!

Nice guitar Jim! Two beautiful MOTS necks with side by side string through pickups. It couldn't get much better than that. I don't see any way to make it a three legger without kludging some kind of bracket between the necks. Nah. I'm sure you could make it a four leg by installing a socket under about the 5th fret of each neck but consider the expense (approx): $100 for sockets, $150 for legs, $60 for the two large forstner drill bits you'll need plus some dicey moments at a full sized drill press. If everything goes well, you'll have a slightly less collectable guitar than you started with. Nothing wrong with making it into a better player by doing that but be aware that you won't get back your investment costs. I've never tried drilling through MOTS plastic. I expect it would melt rather than snag but I don't know.

A Deluxe34 stand will never depreciate more than about 20% but once you get one you'll probably never sell it anyway. If Mark has braces that will work for that guitar, I'd go that route.

Another option is to rethink your aversion to a keyboard stand. This might be the one guitar that that would be the best option.

why not get a keyboard stand and not alter the guitar at all. there are lots of them online. one like this style. there are several companies that make this style. you might have to shorten the legs...no problem. probably cheaper than the body inserts and adjustable legs.

I agree with Bill S & Joe. A Deluxe34 double similar, but not identical, to mine would work well. And you would not need to modify your vintage instrument whatsoever, which would undoubtedly reduce its collectability and value.
value.

Let me know how the brackets work out for that Supro.
I'm not sure how the backside looks on those

Mark made me brackets for my Supro D-6 that worked perfectly. Sorry, I don't have the widths anymore as I included the brackets with the instrument when I sold it a couple of years ago. Because the back is flat almost all the way to the neck, the brackets don't need to be contoured. Just measure the body width near the jack and the neck width around the third fret.
