The video of the live YouTube performance with Ray Price when Price came out of retirement isn't fine quality. Buddy was getting a lot of hair on Night Life and I Love You Because (instrumental). The amp looks like a Session 400 Limited? A brief view of the back shows the large heat sink and front looks like Limited, but is largely fuzzy? He's pushing the amp to near brink of mild tube distortion/compression, maybe with another pre-amp in the chain? Looks like he has a couple of stomp boxes on top of the amp. Anybody got the low-down on his setup on this video? _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

For some reason I can't load YouTube videos? I can't send it to myself. I used to be able to do that, but no more? I also log onto YouTube with no results. If you google Buddy Emmons Live With Ray Price it should be there. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

I'm not positive, but I think Buddy was using a Session 500. Outside chance a Renown or Vegas. Pretty sure it's not a Session 400 Limited. _________________ My best,

Ernie, I think you're right on that, now that I look closer at the faceplate. There's also another video of him at one of the conventions, not ISGC, where he's playing the same guitar, maybe wearing the same shirt and a clearer picture of him and the lead player both playing a 500. 1980. The 500 had just hit the market. Now I'm curious as to what he was using to pre-amp in the chain? The 500 is too clean to get that much grit. I can see a fuzzy image of some knobs on top of the amp in the Price video. Maybe stomp boxes? I'll have to investigate a 1980 ISGC video, if one is out there? _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |

He has an MXR 6-band EQ plugged into the guitar.
A little better view I Love You Because...
Note right before the tune he reaches over and adjusts something on the EQ. Then also reaches down by the right rear leg. I'm pretty sure he's adjusting the reverb level on the Session 500's leg mount remote. _________________ My best,
