my nv 1000 makes a lot of noise with volume above 2 i hear a ticking noise i thought it was my vp but with my cube 80xl no noise with my 1000 i tap the pickup edge i hear it through the amp hooked straight from steel to amp used deoxit on the pots could it be a dirty speaker magnet? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a microphonic pickup.

If you tap the pickup and the sound is coming through your amp it’s probably microphonic. Can you hear it when you tap the body of the guitar?
