my nv 1000 makes a lot of noise with volume above 2 i hear a ticking noise i thought it was my vp but with my cube 80xl no noise with my 1000 i tap the pickup edge i hear it through the amp hooked straight from steel to amp used deoxit on the pots could it be a dirty speaker magnet? any help would be greatly appreciated. _________________ Mike Bowles |

Could be a microphonic pickup. _________________ I don't know much but what I know I know very well.

If you tap the pickup and the sound is coming through your amp it’s probably microphonic. Can you hear it when you tap the body of the guitar? _________________ I don't know much but what I know I know very well.
