I have what I believe is a BR-4 Gibson lap steel.
I find no serial number or any other means of identifying the model.
Is there a site that addresses that ?

Not that I know of. Post photos of your instrument and we can probably guess what you have.

Per the Duchossoir book, BR-4's were made from mid '46 to late '47, early '48.

Yep. BR-4. If the back has binding too (can't see it) then it is later, into '47. The earlier version in '46 was only bound on top. (No, I am not an expert...I just have the book).
