found this old thread about tunable splits on a super pro.
anyone done this to a super pro...

Joe, I have the split tuning feature on all three of my Sho-Buds. I just finished refurbishing a SuperPro and the "splits" were installed. We have A jig for drilling the holes after the changer plate is removed.

I could email you a more detailed photo if you would like.

The tricky part of adding split screws on any later model Bud is the notch for the string ball end and the shape of the back of the stock fingers. They don't provide an ideal surface for a split screw to stop against. You will have to plan very carefully to get the angle right so that the screws make solid contact with the finger but don't contact the string ball or steel scissor, and are low enough that they don't interfere with string changes, etc.

I added split screws to my U12 Bud, but I also replaced the fingers with aluminum units that have a pin for the string end and a flat back surface. In my case they just go straight in like a normal split screw.
