Greetings! I haven't posted much in recent years, but I do check in regularly to keep up on all the steel news. Speaking of news...I have just acquired a brand new Jackson Slide King that David built for me in early July. This guitar is incredible in every way. Simply put, I have not played a modern steel that has this level of "vintage" in its tone. And the tone stays rich and consistent right up the fretboard. It reminds me of that early '60s Buddy Emmons sound. This is why I've played Jackson steels for the past 13 years. I love the vintage tone without the vintage issues, and once again the Jacksons have over-delivered in this and every other department.
We discussed finish during the build process, and David asked if I preferred "class or flash." I went with flash of course, and flash I got! Silver sparkle on back and front aprons, with black top and low profile aluminum neck. "Four suits" decal front and center, of course! It's 3+4 and does everything I need it to do. I will post a video in the near future, but for now I've taken a few pics for you to see. It sounds as great as it looks, and as a bonus it's 48 pounds in the case - which keeps you in "regular luggage" fees when flying. I can't recommend this brand of steel enough. David, Harry, and Dawn treat me like family. I couldn't ask for a better experience buying my first new steel since my last Jackson in 2009.

That is one cool lookin' pedal steel! I'd love to have a metal flake steel sometime. I've always wanted one that was the same color as Dorothy's ruby red slippers in the Wizard of Oz. I bet it sounds great! |

Very nice guitar, Chris! I've talked to David Jackson for a few years now about a glass sparkle guitar, but never have ordered one. I think that's what my next one will be |

Hey Marc,
After several attempts to get the Pro IV under 50 pounds in the case for flying, I had to sacrifice it to get this one. Mike Bourque bought it from me. The Slide King is every bit the quality of the Pro IV, though, so as much as I miss it I'm very happy with the Slide King! _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

Hey Skip! Yes I know you've had the chance to try these guitars first-hand in Dallas. They are in a class of their own. Hope you're keeping well! _________________ Jackson Steel Guitars

Yeah, Chris. I remember playing that Jackson Madison at the Dallas show...man, that thing was alive. I should've snagged it right then & there.
All good here, thanks. Take care of that new guitar... |

Great lookin steel - and I see a steelseat setting under it. Could not resist.
All joking aside I have heard the same about Jackson and that is a fine looking one.
